In this election J. Gustavo Rivera came in first with 93% of the vote which amounted to 19,809 votes. Steven Stern came in second and obtained 5% of the vote which amounted to 1,126 votes. Other candidates included Jose A. Padilla Jr. who obtained 2% of the vote which amounted to 342 votes. The total non-write-in votes in this election were 21,277.
